Hello all.
Our PC running the Supervisor 60E crashed yesterday rendering our switchboard out of service. We have 2 other Sohpo supervisors 25 available which we are using but need to get the Sup60 functioning.
Our PBX service provider has quoted us the earth to restore this service and considering the fault is PC based I am hoping that there is someone that could assist me.
The sup60 crashed because of the PC motherboard and we have provided another machine in it's place. One of the problems is that our new machine does not have a ISA slot for the ISDN adapter so we need a new PCI ISDN adapter.
Question 1
Does the sup60 require a specific ISDN adapter/modem?
Question 2
We are using the existing harddrive,Is the licensing affected in the new box?
Question 3
Is there anything else that one needs to look out for in trying to resolve this fault?

Your help on this matter is desperately sought.

Regards
Matt

Question 1
Does the sup60 require a specific ISDN adapter/modem?

Fritz isdn card works fine.

Question 2
We are using the existing harddrive,Is the licensing affected in the new box?

License is only related to the hardware dongle

Question 3
Is there anything else that one needs to look out for in trying to resolve this fault?

new drivers for different hardware ?

Hi all
Big thank you to cooldude6 for the quick reply and assistance to my fault.
I have transfered the HDD into a new box which has now detected all the new hardware including the ISDN controller.
I still have a problem when trying to start the SophoSup application. An error"ispd.dll not found" is displayed.I did a search for the file and found it in Program Files - Philips - SSV60 folder.
This seems to be an old version of the software as there is no dongle as part of this system.
Is this file in the correct folder and if so could we recover if corrupt.
Once again I value any response to this submission.

Regards
Matt

Hi,

I've seen this one before and as far as I could findout is that the problem that you get after login the CallHandling message ISPD.DLL is because the ISDN (fritz) card is not installed and/or configured.
Should be gone after a normal install.

Hi All
Big thank you to jabw for the response.I still have to resolve this problem.
Does one have to do a clean install or can you get away with a re-installation?I am also concerned with the phone book database.
How do I retain all the data(which files do I backup)?
What else do I look out for?

Thanks once again to all for your invaluable replies.

Thanks
Matt

Hi Mat123,

In general, the phonebook is called xxx.pb
You can open it using access.

Hi again mat123.

It also depends on the type of database some versions of SV60E support an SQL (MSDE) database.
Search for oppi.ini it contains usefull information about the location of the phonebook.
There are also settings in ODBC used that could be usefull.
In general. Reinstall of a SV60E is a lot faster than searching for all kind of details. Except for the phonebook ofcourse.

Very important.
Before you do anything.
Get your license string that came with the dongle.
You need it during the installation.

Hi All
This is certainly proving to be a very helpful forum and I am thankful to all that have contributed in resolving problems I have be having onsite. Thanks jabw for all the tips.
I must add that I have since discovered that we have a very old version of the Sup60 software. This version(1.2.0)does not require a security dongle and we were one of the first clients to receive this product.
I need to complete this very soon so anything which I have missed I am hoping that this forum could come to my rescue.

Thanks again for all the help.

Regards
Matt

Hi Mat123,

Glad I could assist you. Just in case you want an upgrade to the SV60E 3.x (3.2.0 is the latest) just make this known and perhaps something can be arranged.

Hi All
Again I certainly appreciate all the help and generous offers(jabw)which I am hoping you are able to assist me with.

Thanks
Matt
