I´m trying to do LAN segmentation using a ssIII 4900 as our core switch/router and several 3300's.

I've set up the trunk ports, but I have a problem when creating Ip interfaces.

Example:

I want to create an IP interface 172.16.7.254 /22 in my 4900, that will be the default gateway of that subnet. As soon as I create this interface, it goes down and I haven't found the way to make this virtual interface go up to begin the inter-vlan routing proces... I'm running firmware 3.12

Any help would be appreciated.

nevermind, I find the answer to my problems. Interfaces were down because there wasn't a port assigned to the vlan associated with that interface..... the shame...
