Message Phone" displays on a superset 4025 in a 3300 ICP and flashing the Message indicator, no messages in the VM.
tried to deactivate it by the feature code
it is a callback message, any idea how to turn it off,
Thanks,

press msg key, press yes or read msg, press erase or erase msg.
FYI, in system options Superset callback message cancel timer. If blank callback msg is kept indefinately

You will need to enable the Multiline erase message option the class of service of the phone to be able to turn the lamp off.
If it is not enabled then when you read the message the option to erase is not displayed

There is an excellent FAQ for this

faq1329-7159

I,ve tried all this but still flashing, furthermore, i deleted the line completely and set the line back again, the indicator returned flashing.

Any other suggestion?

Is this a 2K and do you ever use Software Move Swaps?

If so, you're in for a bad time.

What VM?

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Following up on my 2K question. I find this scenario most likely.

On a 2K MWI is set against the port (and associated extension at the time)

If a move swap takes place, the replacement phone aquires the MWI but it CANNOT be shut off unless done with the original extension.

This being the case, you must restore the original station to the port, remove the MWI indicator, and then move swap again.

There are some more Experienced 2K people in this forum. Please indicate if I'm guessing correctly.

If it is a Nupoint VM then you may be able to turn it off using options MWI and setting the state to 2
Can you also go to the maintainance prompt and type LOCATE FEATURE EXTENSION xxxxx and display the MWI type (callback etc.) and post back here

it is a dialed message waiting:
Card Type : DNI Line
Circuit Location : 10 1 6 3 1
Extension : 2221
Active Features :
Message Waiting Lamp On
Dialed Message Waiting.
Service Level: Full

yes i do used a move swap between this Ext. and another one, the other Ext. user is in a leave and his office is locked, I'll try to reset this from his office once he is back

Looks like it is dialled message waiting
You could try the following
Make sure that message waiting in enabled in class of service of the extension (default is yes)
Then from the phone try using the feature access code MWI off and then extension number e.g. if the MWI off code is #88 and the extension is 1234 then dial #881234
If this does not work you could also try enabling the COV/ONS/E&M Voice Mail Port option in class of service of the extension and try the MWI off code again.
If it works make sure you turn the COV/ONS/E&M Voice Mail Port option off afterwards.

I tried dialing the MW deactivate code followed by the Ext No, before i complete the ext. No. it returns default tone

as regards the COV/ONS/E&M it rejects enabling this option telling it is used for Hunt G.

OK that makes sense if the extension is already in a hunt group then this will fail
Can you select this option on another phone that is not in a hunt group and try the the FAC again

Also what voicemail system are you using?

Move Swap!

You have to restore the original extension to the port to turn this off. Unless the MWI was set against 2221 you will NEVER turn this off.

Once you restore the original extension to the port by reversing the move swap, you can turn off the MWI and then Move Swap again.

Agreed move swap back to the original plid turn off MWI and move swap back
This is a dialled MWI so should be able to turn on then off via FAC

To be honest with you, I've never seen this (MWI FAQ trick) fail to work, provided the control phone was properly set up as detailed in the FAQ.

Turning off "dialed" Message Waiting can be accomplished from another extension residing on a different node in the network (one that's networked, but not otherwise a member of the same cluster)

Thank you guys for your help and advices, the issue is over now,
what I did, based on one of your advice, i swapped the two ext.s back and cancelled the message remotely on the Exten, which the message was sent to, by dialing Mes. Deact. Code + Ext Num. the MWI turned off finally, then I made another move & swap, everything back to normal.

Thank you all again and really appreciate you advices,

Your experience underscores the need to use the LOCate FEature Extention xxxx
(LOC FE E xxxx) on both sets *before* performing your MOV-SWAP. Not only can you save yourself some grief, but in the case of Voice Mail MWI you can also be a nice guy and turn the msg lamp back on (as we did during our SX2K days). (saves complaints of delayed MWI activation)
