superimposing text boxes

im using Indesign 3.o and i'm trying to insert a text box 'A' over two linked text box colums. the idea is to made the quotation in the superimposed text box 'A' appear over the text in the two columns. my problem is that I can't make A opaque. I get it's text over the text in the two columns. What should I do??

Give the Text Box 'A', a fill of white.
Then turn you Text Wrap off
