Can we please discuss how people can 'supercharge' Windows XP through any registry hacks, etc...

For example, it is possible to speed up XP if you have, say 512Mb+ RAM, by preventing Windows paging from the hard disk

The following registry change would do this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Session Manager\Memory Management

Modify "DisablePagingExecutive", to 1.

Although the above hack is hotly debated to whether it actually makes a massive difference, it's a good example of what I mean.

Can anyone else offer more to this thread on how to get the most out of XP...?

Why not have a look at some Windows XP tweak pages. As always if you arent sure what you are doing or what could happen don't try these tweaks....

The list is endless but most sites have the same tweaks. I would say the best sites to checkout is dougknox and blackviper.
