Hi,
Does any one know how to superimpose the data from crystal report into a pdf form ? Let me clarify my requirements. There is a PDF file. Its basically a form .To fill out the form , you generally print the form and fill it out with pen or pencil. Instead of doing that , is there a way , I can take the PDF file, and through crystal report, put the data in the respective places ? Like read the employee information from the database and put the Employee First Name, Last Name, Manager Name , Division Number etc in the respective places in the PDF file ? Or is there any third party products available to do that ? All the helps are appreciated.
-Thanks

One Idea might be to have two detail sections. Detail A would be for your database fields, detail B would be the pdf form inserted as an image. The for Detail a , turn on 'overlay the following section'.

You'd then have to mess around a bit with the field placings in Detail a section to line them up properly.

We do something similar with bills of ladings.

Hi Julie,
Thanks for your reply. I tired to insert the PDF file into the report. I just put the fields into the proper places of the forms. When I print it , the printed PDF form is not that good. It is as if the whole document is blured. Is there any idea, if the graphics quality of the form can be improved ?
Thanks again for all your help and time .

Actually my PDF file is a A4 size So I put it as an OLE object in the detail section and then put the fields on proper positions on top of the PDF file. But when I embade the PDF file ( Insert OLE Object) , it shrinks the PDF file to 6.5 x 8.3 . I want it as a standard ful page. If I strech the embaded PDF file, the text gets blured. I check the Patch , its for Crystal report 8 . Currently I am using CR 10. Any thoughts.

You asked about "how to superimpose the data from crystal report into a pdf form?"

Have a look at the list of 3rd-party Crystal tools listed at: My "Visual CUT" software is one of the Report Managers listed there. It can now insert formula values into a PDF Form (by detecting formula names that match PDF form Field names) and save/send the result as new PDF files. You can elect to either "flatten" the form fields or keep them editable for the recipient.

Cheers,
