I have an easy one. I have a hotel with a SX200 and mitel superconsole 1000. The hotel wants to be able to take a call from a guest and if they ask for reservations to just hit a key and it will transfer them to the 1-800 number of the hotels company ran reseravtions dept. Do I need to make an extension and have it call forward auto to a 1-800-333-4444 number or is there a way to program just a key on the console from the console to be a speed-dial for reservations.

I'm not a phone guy but should be able to figure it out. I have the user guide, but it doesn't have anything for this scenario.

Thanks,

Brian

I did this by making the speed dial access a 7 then programmed the 800 number in bin 77. They then did a transfer to 777.

Thanks,

I found a user guide and it has a macros section. It says to hold down the function key and then select a soft key that is unprogrammed. It says you will get a menu to edit that key but nothing happens for me. It is page 18 of the user guide found here. Should be simple but console does nothing other then list normal functions as it would when depressing the function key.

I have to nbeing somethign super simple wrong.

Any ideas?

The macro keys cannot be used to transfer calls in this manner.

You will have to dial digits and release.

The simplest method is using speedcall as described by Fixen.

Thanks,

Can you tell me what menu this would be done in? What rights I will need etc...

The old company who took care of our phone system is no longer in business, I have a the number of the tech who has the console passwd I hope.

Thanks,
Brian

System speedcalls can be set up from the console without a user name and password.

The userf guide you have will describe how (I think), if not you should be able to figure it out under the function keys.

You will need to know the Feature Access code.

Each Speed dial will be entered in a 3 digit bin number.

They are accessed by dialing the FAC followed by the Bin Number.

A little known trick, that fixen is using BTW, is that the Bins from 000 - 099 can be dialed without dialling all of the digits. in his example 7077 is dialed using just 777. The leading zero's in the bin number can be dropped. in the same fashion, 7007 can be dialed with a 77.

It seems as if I have limited options on the console. I hit Function, F2 Att Function and the options listed in the manual or suggested do not show up. I have set station/ system ident/ stations/ trunks but nothing on speed dial. Them ore option has a few things on call fwd and call back / flex night.

I had this problem when using the manaul for other items as well.

I have logged in a sup and maint 2 then went back to function but still nothing.

What am I missing?

Do you have a pkm (programable key module) on the console?

from the Console user guide:

enter a system access code by dialing a three-digit index number. You can
program and display system-abbreviated dialing numbers from the
console.
To program or display system abbreviated dialing numbers:
1. Press Function.
2. Press [ATT FUNCTION].
3. Press [ABBR DIAL].
4. Enter a three-digit index number from 000 to 999.
Press to delete entry errors and then enter the correct number.
5. Press [PRIVATE] to not display the number when dialed.
6. Press [ENTER].
7. Press [CANCEL] to change the existing number.
8. Enter the new number. (Include the outside line access code (e.g. “9”)
and an area code, if applicable.)
You can insert pauses in the numbers. Enter *9 for each 1-second
pause; enter *1 for each 5-second pause.
Press to delete entry errors, and then enter the correct number.
9. Press [SET].
10. Repeat step 4 to 9 to program other numbers, or press [EXIT] to end
programming.

I do not have a module. Just the console.

I think I'm missing the system access code. I'm not sure what this refers too. When I get to step three [ABBR DIAL]is not an option for me. These are similar to steps in the guide I'm using.

After I do program 077 or whatever to an extension. How will I change the speed dial access key to be 7 as well?

I haven't tried a speedcall button or the actual digits under a macro key but kwbMitel are you sure you cannot do this? the docs seem to elude to the fact you can. I have to admit though I have not done it.
from the console guide:
"Macros are designed to facilitate the transfer of calls to voice mail or for recovering calls released to the wrong extension. You can also use macro keys for one-button dialing of frequently called telephone numbers;
programming macros for other uses is not recommended.

That was my first thought. I saw that in the manaul and tried to program the soft key. This is the same situation. I follow the manual word for word but get nothing when I hold function down and click a soft key, the manul shows a new screen with F options pops up but this does not happen.

This feature is available on the SUPERCONSOLE 1000 (Part Numbers 9189-000-300 and 9189-000-301).
what software are you running?

sx-200 LW 17 K31.0.3 Console 2511 is what I get off the console.

What are my options to upgrade this?

your best bet is the abbreviated dial route. You can program that in form 31.
