Hi all

Where can I get a copy of SUNWadm for Solaris 8? Don't find it in the CD-ROMS 1/2 or on the net.

It came with Solaris 8/01 at our site as far as I know

pkginfo|grep SUNWadm

Thanks for the info. pkginfo | grep SUNWadm shows SUNWadmap, SUNWadmc, SUNWadmfw, SUNWadmnj, SUNWadmr at my sitre. however Disksuite complains about not being able to find SUNWadm.

By the way if you didn't already know Solaris8 requires SDS 4.2.1, not 4.2.0 and were advised (by Sun) to do the following, although there are other parts involved depending on the current set-up of your system, basically:-

SDS 4.2:
pkgrm SUNWmd (required) Base Product
pkgrm SUNWmdg (optional) GUI package
pkgrm SUNWmdn (optional) SNMP log daemon package

- pkgadd of SDS The packages are found on the Solaris8, 2 of 2 CD in the EA
directory. Load the following packages:

SDS 4.2.1
pkgadd SUNWmdu Solstice DiskSuite Commands
pkgadd SUNWmdr Solstice DiskSuite Drivers
pkgadd SUNWmdx Solstice DiskSuite Drivers(64-bit)
pkgadd SUNWmdg (optional) Solstice DiskSuite Tool
pkgadd SUNWmdnr (optional) Solstice DiskSuite Log Daemon Configuration Files
pkgadd SUNWmdnu (optional) Solstice DiskSuite Log Daemon

Pull down Sunsolve and patchadd 108693-06 or 07

Do you know what SUNWadm actually does? We don't have it either,and were not asked for it during install..

SUNWadm is the Solstice Adminsuite package.

Solstice AdminSuite is installed . I downloaded SDS v4.2.1 from Sundownloads. Unpacked and did pkgadd. I am able to lauch disksuite from Solstice window. But when I click on the Disksuite Tools menu and select Disk Manager or File Manager I get an error window pops up with "The selected tool not available. Install SUNWadm".
Not sure if I missed out any steps during the install. Solstice was installed from the distribution CD as an intial install, and SDS4.2.1 was downloaded and installed.

Any answers? Hello? I have the same problem and I'm pretty sure many others running Solaris 8 do too. Very frustrating!
