I have a Sunblade 1000 that another dept is no longer using and nobody has a password for it. I have downloaded OPen solaris for SPARc and burned the image to a CD. How to I get the server to boot from CD?

Any info wold be appreciated.
thanks,

My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.

You burned it as an iso image, correct?

You should be on the system console.

From the open boot prompt (the ok> prompt) use the boot cdrom command.

ok>boot cdrom

Which will boot off the cd/dvd and then enter the Solaris install program. If you wish to only boot in a single user session off of the cd/dvd image use "ok>boot cdrom -s"
