On a SunOS 5.6 system using Sun WorkShop 6 I am getting the following error when running: workshop -D runflute core &

Fatal error: Could not open ToolTalk channel.

Does anyone know how to remedy this?

Thanks,

Michael

Workshop uses tooltalk to send display information to your PC. Usually this message means your PC already has the tooltalk port in use.

Check on the server for a process called "ttsession". If you see one of these processes that is referencing your DISPLAY, you may be able to kill it, and then have your next call to workshop start a new one.

I think ttsession also has some sort of override option - you might check out the man page for ttsession.

Just looking at this a little more... if you use the command:

/usr/dt/bin/ttsession -p -c workshop -D ...

It should work as an override.

Thanks very much for responding dobbyn.

Your info was very helpful.
