SUN V245 Memory install 1

I've got a new V245. Can handle 2 cpu, I have one. Facing the machine, the CPU is on the right. Are the memory banks on the right the only ones alive with a single CPU? Are the memory banks on the left dead until I put in a second CPU. Need answer quick as I'm having memory issues and if the second bank is dead, then I'll have to just get higher density chips for the right side.

On the V240 that's the case - bank 1 to CPU1 and bank 2 to CPU2 so I guess it should apply to the 245 as well.

Usually the whole bank is populated with the smallest possible stick and to upgrade you will have to replace most if not all of the memory.
