I have configured bge0 using setup and it works. I have configured bge1 and it APPEARS correct. However, I cannot ping it from another host directly connected to it with a crossover cable. Nor can I ping that host from the V210. Everything looks good after ifconfig -a

I do get good link lights though on both the sun and the host.

Thanks,

meierw;

did you create this cable yourself. what model system is the other system. what is the pinout that you used?

Thanks

cndcadams,

The cable is an ethernet cross: 1-3, 2-6, 3-1, 4-4, 5-5,
6-1, 7-7, 8-8. (I do have link lights on both ends so I wasn't concerned about the cable)

The other system is just a Windows PC NIC I am using to test connectivity. Once I have the interfaces configured properly, bge0 and bge1 will be in different vlans.

Because I can ping or telnet through bge0 with the same cable and host, I believe my problem is with my bge1 setup.

Thanks,

meierw

Have you queried whether it thinks it has a link using ndd? Did you see any "link up" messages on the console or in /var/adm/messages?
