Sun v120 install

hey guys/gals, I just got a (used) sunfire v120 server with no video card and can not for the life of me get it configured.

i cant connect to it via the console or lom and i cant find much documentation for it either.

if i could somehow get factory defaults restored, and its network card to come up i could connect on port 10000... but i cant figure out how to do this either. i have pulled down the pdf documentation from the sun site but its no help.

It depends on how it was setup. Sun recommends setting port B for console access and port A for LOM. See if this helps:

Make sure you are using a Null Modem cable when you connect the LOM Port to the external computer.

You should be able to connect via the serial port A (RJ).

Pinout for the RJ Serial port A is:

RJ 25 pins 9 pins

1 RTS 5 CTS
2 DTR 6 DSR
3 Txd 3 Rxd 3
4 grd 7 Grd 5
5 grd 7 Grd 5
6 Rxd 2 Rxd 2
7 DSR 20 Dtr
8 CTS 4 RTS

You will only need Txd, Rxd and Grds'

9600 , no parity, 1 stop and 8 data bits

On Sun solve ,the V120 user manual on page 6-5 displays
the above plus other info within the section.
