Hi All I have just turned on one of our ancient servers which we founf in the lockup.

when i boot it up is stops half way through system diagnostcs at firmware level.

the mesg is as follows.

Internal loopback packet -- failed to receive expected loopback packet.

the same mesg appears when i run an diagnostics from ok prompt.

does anyone out there know how to rectify this problem.

Sounds like the ethernet adapter is fried. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

The RAM and the power supply may have a market on Ebay, sadly the stock drive is prolly too small and slow to fetch anything. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
