SUN SOLARIS -8 (sparc) problem

Hi
My problem started when I changed the default shell of root to bash. When i locked my machine I cannot logon with the same password I used to use.
Then I used the hot-key to boot the machine and at last it shows me that:
! No such user as root- cron tab entries not found
....
....
unknown or bad password entry for <root>
...
....
how can I get around this problem?

You will need to boot to CDROM in single user mode and change the /etc/profile or your .profile back to the way it was. You will also need to change the password for root in the shadow file. Here is an FAQ that describes how to do it.
