Sun/ Oracle problem

I am getting a Sun adm message file with the following entries over and over. I have included one whole "cycle" of messages below.

What causes this? How can I fix the problem? (this message posted on THE SUN OS board also)

hey,

are your instance(s), listener(s) and concurrent managers (if running apps) running correctly?

if so what are the crontab entries for the oracle user (assuming that's your owner)?
could this be result of your shell scripts rather than Oracle software?

are there more serious symptoms than annoying entries in /var/adm/messages?

the fact that you're describing Solaris messages instead of Oracle trace files, core dumps, etc. makes me suspicious.

There are no trace files,core dumps, etc created for this. As posted in the Sun board, I also have another file that has an error message saying that it cannot get the platform hostid from the eeprom file. I don't know if the two are related (yet).

I just inherited this system. I and a P/T student &quot;DBA&quot; with no one here to ask. So far, I have not found out if I have access to Metalink. My boss seems to think that I should have become a master of all aspects of Oracle, Unix and the Sun OS within the past 10 weeks at 15 hours/week - max.

The instances and listener all seem to be running fine. Evidently, these messages have been generated since last summer - just discovered because the log/message files became so big that they created a bottleneck.
