sun microsystems keyboard not recognised

hello,
i have couple of machines running solaris 8. when i boot them with the sun microsystems keyboard plugged into the USB port, I get an error on boot.

Keyboard not found..

If I plug a a TU-PS2 into the USB and then just an ordinary keyboard the boot process works fine.

Is there a way to get the Sun keyboard to work or is this specifically made for a sun machine?

I don't believe USB is supported in Solaris 8.
