Sun Grid Engine

Does anybody have any experience with Sun's Grid Engine?. I am trying to install it. I installed the master and I am trying to install it on some hosts but I am haveing a problem. The install doc says sge-root should be accessable to all hosts or you have to copy it to the hosts? What does this mean? Do I have to copy the sge-root directory that is on the master to all the systems even if they are different OS hosts?
