SUN Blade 150 with solaris 8 2

I am trying to install sun solaris 10 on a sun blade 150. I have the install cd's but the machine just loads solaris 8 login screen. how do i install over 8?


Is there a ctrl break or bios access key?

Go down to the 'ok ' prompt
# init 0

Insert the Solaris 10 Installation CD & boot it
ok boot cdrom

To get to the OK prompt, you might have to use the Sun 'ctrl/break' which is generally Stop-A on a Sun keyboard.

Thats the thing I have an HP usb standard keyboard. I will look to ebay for a sun keyboard, unless anyone has any other ideas.

no id did not. I will though when I get home from work. What is the init 0?

Basically it means shut the Operating System down. But see the man pages (man init) for the full explanation about changing 'run levels'.
