I need a push in the right direction to generate an access query that will sum up numbers in a numeric field based on a where clause that has two aguments. Thanks for any help provided.

Create the query placing the field(s) you need the criteria set for and the field(s) you wish summed. Press the sum button on the tool bar(this creates a totals query). By default the total property of each field will be set to Group By. Change this in the ones you want summed to Sum. If you don't want to display the field with the criteria then set this property to Where. Put the criteria you want the records limited to in the criteria property of this field. To limit the field to more than one criteria you can use OR between the criteria choices or you can place each choice on a separate line.
