Hello..

I am trying to write a financial report in Crystal and have created subreports for each profit centre/account combination I need. Basically I would like to know if it is possible to summarise the data of subreports which have been displayed on the main report. ie - if I have 3 different subreports that return 3 different numerical values, can I total these up?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Just make the subreport a summary only report.

Also, why did you use subrports in the first place? You did not provide much detail of what you are trying to accomplish, but a breackdown by profit center/account would not require subrports in any database I have ever worked with.

Hi dgillz,

thanks for the prompt reply. The reason why I am using subreports is because I am using AS400 which does not give me account totals, it only gives me debit and credit values and I have to create formulas to give me account totals.

Im not sure I understand what you meant when you said to make the subreport a summary only report. I have a series of subreports that I need to add up.

Your help is appreciated

thanks

If you want to pass values between the main report and subreports you will need to use shared variables.

take a look in the help files or do a search on here there are many examples.

If you need further help post back.

Petercav,

You do not need a subreport to get account totals. Just right click the detail field and select insert summary or insert grand total.

What are the series of subreports? Are they totals by a specific account range or type? More details please.
