I am trying to modify a report that someone else wrote. In the report that is composed of 5 tables. In section 2 I have a group header with a cost in that section with other data. Then for the same record there are a certain number of group headers under that one record. When you do a Sum of that cost field it is giving me 5 or 6 times the number because in the hidden details it has a one to many relationship. I need in the Group footer to just have the sum of the costs shown and not times the number of detail records. I have tried a few things but nothing is working since you cant use the count or sum fields in formula fields. I am sure this is a basic question but would someone help me out I would appreciate it.
Thanks for your time

Try inserting running totals that sum the cost and evaluate on change of the inner group you want to summarize. Then reset on change of the outer group

Thank you for the information.
Just so I am sure of what you are saying, I should create a running total on Change of Group 2 header and place it in the Group 2 footer and reset on Change of Group 1?

I guess so, but you didn't identify your groups by name. Why not just try it?
