Hello, I have a report that shows all dealers that works with us and in the details section I have a sum of all the records for the specified dealer. How can I create a page that would go in the front of the report that would only show the total sum of deals per dealer? and the rest of the pages the detailed sections by dealer?

In other words, the first page of the report is a summary of all deals per dealer.

Thanks

I think a subreport is the best bet. You can use a copy of your current report with the visible property of detail set to No.

Does your existing report have a summary at the bottom of each dealer group that you wish to show as a summary report or have I misunderstood your post?

Yes, I have a DEALER Footer where I do a SumOf of the fields I want to add up and the report is sorted by Dealer so I have a summary per dealer.

Then, in some detail, say your existing report is called Dealers,
1. Copy it to a report called, say, DealersSummary.
2. Open DealersSummary in design view and double-click on the grey bar marked Detail, set the Visible property to No on the Format tab of the Property Sheet that appears when you do this. Save DealersSummary.
3. Next, open Dealers in design view and make sure that Report Header is visible (View->Report Header/ Footer).
4. Choose Subform/Subreport from the Toolbox (make sure that the Wizard icon is selected) and drag it to the Report Header section.
5. Follow the Wizard pop-up instructions, that is, choose 'Use an Existing Report or Form' from the first page of the Wizard pop-up and select DealersSummary as the report to use. Choose None from the list of linking options on the next page. On the final page press Finish, if you are satisfied with the suggested name.

You should end up with a subreport in the report header of Dealers that shows only the summary lines from your report.

mauricionava, I see you have posted about 50 questions, but have never given a star. Please give one to Remou!
