Summary alert popup, after virus deletion, in an email

ANyone know how to stop the summary alert popup, that Norton Antivirus 2004 throws up, after deleting /quarantining a virus found in an email?? It happens every night. An infected email arrives, norton detects it, deletes it, and then stops Outlook from checking the rest of my email, until I satisfy the summary alert popup by clicking ok!! Of course this doesnt happen until the morning, at which time the rest of the mail is checked, and there I sit...waiting and waiting (spam, etc) to be checked that came in throughout the night. I have 2 online businesses and have heavy email.
