I'm in the middle of developing a report that will have about 15 running totals I need a specific horizontal layour that I cannot accomplish with a crosstab.

The RT's all reset after the lowest group. Is there a trick to get subtotals and a grand total of each RT or do I need to create new running totals for each level?

YOu need to create new Rts for each level. As they will reset on different groups.

I had hoped there was an easier way ; )

I've created all the RT's, now I have the issue that the field is empty if the value is zero. I've checked the formating and the "supress if zero" option is unchecked. I set the "show zero value" as 0 and still blank....arg!

You might be able to use conditional formulas instead of running totals, in which case you could just insert summaries on the same formula at different levels--as long as you don't have row inflation. You would have to account for nulls, too.
