Sumarising No. of Entries

Probably a very thick question I have created a report. I now want to create a total of unique entries in each column. For example I've 3 entries in my first column of company name Test Company, Test Company and ABC LTD. I would like to be able to sumarise the number of unique entries so that the end result would be 2. Please could anyone help?

Hi Sam,

Right Click on the field you wish to summarise...

Iif you are not using groups then use ...

Insert Grand Total...
Distinct Count

(This will automaticaaly drop into you report footer)


Alternatively

Insert Summary...
Distinct Count
Select Field you are summarising within (ie Group)

(This will automatically create a group if not present and drop you summary into you group footer)


More complicated summaries can be achieved using the running totals feature.
