sum of groups

I am pretty new at CR, so bear with me. I need to make a summary page for my report. My report contains the fields model number, and quantity. The same model number will appear on multiple entries.

What I would like to do is have a summary page listing each distinct model number, and the total number for each model number.

I know how to do this by grouping, and then showing summaries at the bottom of each group, but I JUST want the sums for the summary page, not the individual entries. I assume this would use formulas. thanks for the help.

You could use formulas, or more simply try a Cross-Tab (Insert->Cross-Tab) in the report footer.

Since you didn't share how the summary page would look, try placing the model number in the Rows, and the model number in the Summarized Fields, select Change Summary and select Count.
