I know I must be missing something easy- I have a summary report with details suppressed..
Layout is like this.

Date RTotal0
GF1> 12/2/2003 $1000
GF1> 12/3/2003 $250
GF1> 12/4/2003 $400

RF> ? <--I Want this total (sum of Rtotal0 column -$1650)

Any help appreciated. CR9 against MSSQL SVR

Running Totals can't be summed, however you can create another Running Total which does not reset at the group level to get the grand total.

You can also just right click any field in the details and select Insert->Summary->Grand Total->Sum

This is NOT the same as a Grand Total, and has the advantage for both group level and grand totals of being available prior to displaying the results in the report, so they can be displayed anywhere on the report.

Sorry, should have proofread:

this should read:

This is NOT the same as a "RUUNING" Total, and has the advantage for both group level and grand totals of being available prior to displaying the results in the report, so they can be displayed anywhere on the report

I must be doing something wrong. I've tried to create a new running total and putting it into my Report Footer and I don't get the results I expect. Below is the data I'm working with with the amount in the RF and the expected amount. Do I need a formula in the R.total?
Ideas?

GF1> -$154.50
GF1> -$428.50
GF1> $1,795.64
GF1> $7,431.68
GF1> $8,902.80
GF1> $17,924.07
GF1> $27,247.64
GF1> $32,863.64
GF1> $37,924.28
GF1> $41,014.78
GF1> $44,978.78
GF1> $53,783.63
GF1> $57,214.69
GF1> $60,098.87
GF1> $74,236.65

RF> $464,834.15 <- not getting this total
