Hi,

this might be very easy but for some reason it doesn't work for me. I have a number fields like 3,2,45,98,107... I need to subtract those numbers (result: 255) but it doesn't work. i tried to use a sum field formula to summarize those number but for some reason it doesn't work. I've got an error that this field (eventhough is a numeric field) can't be summarized.

Any suggestions what i'm doing wrong? I'm using CR 2008 vs 12.

Thanks!

You are going to need to explain. You mention subtracting the data for a result of 255 but I am not sure what you are subtracting them from. The sum of the numbers provided is 255 though.

Please supply a sample of how the data appears on the report, and explain exactly what result you are trying to achieve.

Cheers
Pete

You can't use the Summarise function on a value that derives from more than one detail line. There are other options, including defining your own Variables. The use of Crystal's automated totals is outlined at FAQ767-6524.
