I have sequencing data. In the group footer I am trying to sum the amount paid. For some reason I am getting duplicates. It seems to happed ramdomly. I am unable to suppress in the group footer or in the details.

1Group Header: Bank
2Group Header: acctno
Details(suppressed): acctno, amountpaid
2Group Footer Accton: sum amountpaid
1 Group Footer: Totals Per Bank

Data Example:

Bank Acctno SeqNo AmountDue AmountPaid
wels 001 1 50 50
wels 001 2 0 0
BOA 002 1 100 50
BOA 002 2 50 50
BOA 002 3 0 0
wels 002 1 50 20
wels 002 2 60 40
wels 002 3 0 0

Hi,
Do you mean that, for instance, for BOA Acct# 002 you get a sum that is not 100 ( given your example data)?

Cann you show us an example of some duplicates?

Here is a link to a pic of the report. Sorry i had to block out the 'confidential' stuff.

In the group footer amt_pd is a sum of amt_pd from the details. The details have a suppress formula previous({amt_pd}) = {amt_pd}.

whenever the sum is wrong it is doubling the amount.

so BOA acct#2 would sum as $200 instead of $100.

YOu need to use a Running Total instead of summary

To eliminate duplices get RT to evalutae on change of Sequence No.

Perfect!

Running Total for field Amount Paid
Change on Field Reciept Numbers
Reset on Group Account No#
