Sum Calculation returns 1 instead of 0

I have set up an order form that calculates the quantity x price = total on each line...at the bottom, there is a subtotal. Even when my form has no quantities entered the subtotal calculation keeps returning 1 instead of 0.
Not sure how to fix this. I can send the document i'm having difficulty with if needed.
