First off, nice site! Like the layout and color schemes. Its easier on the eyes when you use soft colors. Good job.
Ok, now that i'm dont sucking up (LOL), here are my comments/suggestions:
1) You're using CSS tags all throughout the site (which is good), but under the "Headline Internet Stories" section, the links have no CSS attributes. It's a good idea to have consistency throughout the site (like same color schemes, same font, same background image, same CSS properties, etc...)

2) I would try to use a background image so it makes the page (and site) more alive...plain backgrounds are dull...you do have colors and everything but try having a faint image as a background...(you can use your logo as a background image)

3) I clicked a few of the links and once again: consistency...unless it's an outside link (which you have no control over) your pages should have the same color schemes and CSS tags and etc...

That's it for now... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Hi mate,

Thanks.

1) The news feed is from moreover and I have not had time to play about with the code to alter the colour schemes etc. That is on my "to do" list.

2) I previously had a background image but decided to remove it because, after a little time it began to bug me.. I am hopeless at graphic work so it will take a little time to make a more suitable image.

3)I am not sure what pages you mean so I will have to guess on this one. If you mean the Add Url etc. that is just a page I stuck up there for testing at the moment, it will be a totally different layout when it is launched.

Once again, thanks mate. I appreciate it...

No problem man...as for the last comment, any page that resides on you're server (either it is the funny archive, the sports news, anything) it should look the same...the same color scheme and fonts and etc...if a link is a target for an outside site then you can't do anything...
Hope I helped...
As for the image you can take a picture and in photoshop useing layers and such you can minipulate it...you can even create a text-based image that says: "searchIT" in photothsop and have that as a background image...lemme know if you need help in that... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Very impressed Wullie, I think GUJUm0del said it all,
The only criticism i would have would be the logo, it's a little unclear when you first see the logo whether it is searchit or searchlt, i.e. with an i or L. Perhaps if you add a space before the IT and make it a capital T ??
Well you can play around with these but I think it might be better if its a little clearer.
IMHO

good job

Thanks guys,

About the logo, I have had mixed reaction from friends when they saw it, some said that it looked fine, other said change it, I have now slightly changed it to look more like searchit. Thanks.

The links that direct to local pages (except the search pages) will be totally changed before launched, all the links on the sides of the main page will be external links (except 1 or 2) so I have no control over them.

As for the background image, as I previously mentioned, I am hopeless at graphics and therefor it will probably take me about 100 tries before I make an image suitable. I am currently using Gimp for my graphics and don`t have Photoshop installed. Gimp also uses layers but I have not really had time to experiment with them.. That will be attempted very soon!!

I really appreciate both of your help

Thanks again Wullie
