We are looking at a way to house all of our CDs/DVDs on one server and then having this "library" shared out to our network users. I am looking for suggestions on how to handle this and wonder how you all handle your own CD/DVD library.
Do you use a CD/DVD tower? convert to ISOs? Copy all to a folder???
We are talking ~ 200 CDs\DVDs
Please let me know what you use or your suggestions,
TIA,
Stue

Either convert to ISOs or just dump everything onto a network share. A CD/DVD sounds awesome until 2 people want to use the same disk.

I personally favor converting to ISOs. What server side app do you use to allow for sharing as well as for the browsing of the ISO contents by connecting client computers?

I just copy the contents up to the file server so that you can install from the folders. Otherwise the user would need to know how to mount the ISO, and that's asking a lot for some users.

Yeah thats why I was hoping to find a server based app that would disguise the ISOs as a folder and allow for sharing. This way the client could interpret it as a folder and be none the wiser and we would only have one point of install vs many. O well guess Ill be doing a lot of copying.
Thanks for the suggestions,
