Hi,

I've just installed a Slackware 8.0 server with the default set up. I'm doing this for pure interest and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to what I could do next. The server has an IP number (for internal internet use only).

Thanks

Assuming you are new to UNIX or Linux, I'd suggest downloading and getting acquainted with the gcc compiler. In the *NIX world, the majority of programs/utilites you download will be in source format. These require that you compile the software yourself (you'll learn later why this is an advantage and not a disadvantage). After that, download, compile, and experiment with some programs/utilites (or maybe some games).

HOPE THIS HELPS!
