Hi,
My objective is to obtain a recordset of files (document images) from a network server.
Here’s the background:
· I have to create a process that gets files from a server.
· The files are only retrievable via an application called IDM Desktop owned by FileNET Corporation. The application is written in VB. I don’t know VB. There exists a huge file on this server that contains the addresses to the physical locations of these documents that I want. The IDM Desktop VB application is provided as a document management system that allows users to manually customize which documents they’d like to search for and lets them open the images in a viewer. The app is provided to the user as a neat interface to get to this raw data.
Does anyone out there have suggestions on the best way to implement a process to achieve my goal? I’m comfortable with Cold Fusion, ASP, and I’m getting comfortable with Java. I’ve been told I can use ADO, but how? Do I need to learn VB?
Many thanks for any advice.
