Hello,
I'm hoping someone can give me a suggestion on a VPN router that I should purpose. I'm looking to network together via vpn 2 small offices. There's maybe 7 computers at the one office and 4 at the other. There will not be that much traffic between the two sites, they're basically just looking to be able to send some files back and forth. I'd also like to be able to use the VPN connection program built in to Windows XP/Vista/7 to have a handful of staff be able to connect in from home.

Price is a big factor in the devices we choose. We don't want or need anything really fancy and expensive for our needs, which are pretty minimal.

Would anyone be able to reccommend a device that sounds like it would work for us?

Thanks!

The Cisco RV042 has both 50 router to router IPSEC VPNs and 5 PPTP router to client VPNs.

In addition it can use 50 QuickVPN tunnels for remote client access with client software, which you do not need.

If price is the issue, ebay may be your answer.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

I would say that the Billion routers would be a good choice. They are fantastic value and offer both IPSec with 256 AES encryption for the LAN-LAN and PPTP for the dial ins from home.

For a bit more cash prhaps a DrayTek? One of the 2920 or 2820s depending on the internet connection.
