We keep outgrowing the NAS devices. We now have 4 separate devices since 1999, each successive device had more space, but we're still using all 4. Can anyone recommend one solution that will allow additional storage to be added when necessary without affecting the current system, ie no rebuild?

Thanks.

Can I add a plug for an HDS 9570? I have one of these onsite here and it's been faultless so far.

Cheers - Tim

TH HDS 9570 is a great SAN Storage Box, but not a NAS Device. You will need to put a NetApp NAS Head in front of it to get it as NAS.

Snap Appliance 1U Snap Server + Snap Disk 10 Expansion units might work for you.

we've grown our IBM Fastt900 setup from 1.4T to ~55T on 5 fastt's with no downtime.

Go the NetApp. You can go wrong. Excellent performance & support for all environments. When you run out of space just add more disk shelves & then expand the existing volumes.
