Sudden Oracle Performance Degradation

We had an Oracle SQL query running on a Windows-2000 environment that suddenly began a big performance degradation. The query was running fine until it blew out the temp tablespace. We increased the tablespace and was able to rerun the query. Since that successful run, performance has gone from fifteen minutes to almost two hours. Before we start randomly increasing SGA parameters, does anyone have any suggestions?

I think that somedody has dropped an important index or deleted statistics Check execution plan.
