If you look in the Succession 3.o General Release Bulletin you will find a section labled:
Appendix [D] Auxiliary Applications Compatibility
This will list all of the dependencies for a specific product. Symposium is listed as haveing to be Release 4.2 to be compatible with Succession 3.0.
