Got a site that has the need for an alog extn at a remote part of the site, where the only means of connectivity is IP.

Seeing a lot of posts about cisco ATAs, are they pretty easy to set up, by which i mean, could i do it?

Do they just use up one endpoint license? All the ones i've seen have been at least 2 port, but i'll only be using 1.]#

fo shizzle ma nizzle.

Every created extension uses the 3th party endpoint license.
I have no experience with a Cisco ATA.

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Tom, it will be a SIP device so will need a 3rd party endpoint licence.

create the SIP user first, then register the ATA.

Also make sure the ATA is SIP and not SKINNY!

Cisco does do a lot with CLI so i can imaging that an ATA can do CLI too.

I think the ATA is actually a linksys so there will little to no CLI hacking required.

Multitech makes a sip ATA that I've used. Real easy setup with the Avaya white papers. Use it to ring a bell that needed analog at a remote site with only IP phones there. I have a handful of Cisco ATA's that we ripped out of a site that I've tried to get running and haven't had any luck yet. (also haven't spent much time trying to get it up either)

We use the PAP2T, they work perfect.

AVAYA; 400@-9;30(*/0/1)

ps. Use the latest firmware before you start.
To check the DHCP address the ATA has received from the DHCP server. Connected a butt set to port 1 and press ****110 The ATA's have a complete "Interactive Voice Response Menu" you could programm it all by hand or use the webinterface.
