I have a simple crosstab set up with months as the columns and years as the rows. The sales data is the summarized field. What I need to do is to show all the years of sales and then have a row that shows the difference in Sales numbers for the current year minus the previous year. This is only for the most current year. My fields are as follows:

Column: @Column Name (Shows Jan- Dec)
Row: OEINVH.INVFISCYR (Shows 2012, 2011, etc)
Field: @Invoice Amount (Shows Sales Numbers)

As the months columns are pretty fixed, replace the crosstab with a report that has a formula for each month, and is grouped by year. You can then use the "Previous" function to compare this year with the previous year. If there are lots of records per year you might have to save each groups values in a global variable.

Alternatively if you are using CR 2008/11 you can use an embedded summary. Email me and I'll send you the exercises on how to use them from my training course. There is a free download on this subject on

I like your embedded idea and would like the exercises. I am new to this and don't know how to e-mail you so if you could tell me, I will gladly do so. Also, I downloaded your reports from the website to see if I could figure it out from the example and am getting an error on the embedded one.
