subtracting formula field from grand total field

Hi!

My report is having only one group and 3 sections in group footer.. report footer is also got 3 sections. in report footer a i am printing the grand total..and in the second section the deduction amount..i want to print the net amount i.e grand total field - field in second report footer section. how can i do this? please help..thank u.

Hi

Providing the Grand total is in the first footer and the deduction amount in the second you need a formula in the third footer that is Grand Total - Deduction. This should print out the value you are looking for if i've understood your question correctly

Hi!

that's what i want..grand total - deduction..but i am not able to select the grand total field..in the formula editor window, am not able to find the corresponding field to this..in the group footer i have inserted subtotal..in formula editor i can see one sum(field)..when i gave this, it's not giving the correct answer..thank u..

In the formula editor the grand total would start with:

Report Area: Sum of {table.amt}

You could create a formula by typing in also:

Sum({table.amt}) - Sum({table.deduction})
