Hello,

I am creating a report that shows all items ordered by job #. At the end of each job number I was to included a subtotal that shows the qty ordered for each item id. Does anyone know what I would need to do in order to create these totals? If I do a a summary, it gives me all of the different items added together and if I create a group for item id, it seperates the orders and sorts by item id. any help would be appriciated!

thanks

Hey, I'm lost here.
So you have a 1st group with job #,
in there you got items with an item id?

But then? I pick up from your question that an item id can occur more than once per job? And does the item id have a quantity related to it, or is the number of times an item id appears the qty of that item id ordered?

In any case I believe you should create a group by item id.
And then put a summary on that. Count the item ids, or sum the quantity field if you have one and summary location would be in the footer of the item id group.

Yes, it will sort by item id if you do this. The other method where you dont sort on item id is crazy work.

I hope I understood your setup correctly

Hey thank you for your reponse. After I posted...I started browsing other threads and I learned a little about cross-tabs. Thats exactely what I needed!
