Hi all,

I have few fields in the details segment of my data access report. These fields are in integer format and the value retrieved from some functions. Everything is well if I want to display the details of the report.

However, I'm just doing a summary report where i do not need to display the details. I just want to display the sum of these fields. What i get from this group footer were correct for each fields, but when i set the visible properties of the details segment to "NO", all i get are 0 values.

How can i get the subtotal of a group when hiding the details segment? Please advice. Thanks.

Whether or not the Detail section is visible shouldn't be the issue. If the values are being calculated in the Detail section, they should sum in your group footer.

JohnSek,
You might want to share what you mean by "value retrieved from some functions". This is the critical factor of your issue and you haven't specified how you calculate the values or the totals.

Hi,

It's a text box at the details section. The value of the text box is set to =Get_Value() where Get_Value() is a function i created and will return a numeric value.

The function =sum() at the group footer is for database query only. It will not be able to sum up the value of a text box if the text box is hidden. Thanks.

I was hoping you might share the code of your function. Did you try:
=Sum(Get_Value())
