Hi,

Just wondering if anyone out there has had any success in sending out emails via the microsoft reporting services subscription pages.

The machine currently running reporting services does not have SMTP installed, so I would like to configure it to connect to the mail gateway within our network.

There are some MSDN pages which detail what changes are necessary to the config file.

This page explains that the "SendUsing" key should be set to 2 (network SMTP service), and "SMTPAuthenticate" set to 1 so I can specify the "SendUserName" and "SendUserPassword".

However, it does not say where "SendUserName" and "SendUserPassword" are stored, which configuration file they are in, etc. They are not in the configuration file that stores the rest of the email settings - so do I need to add them?

If anyone has come accross this before I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

I've got Reporting Services set up without local SMTP service... instead it sends via an exchange server on the network.

The <SendUsing>2</SendUsing> should be set in a file named RSReportServer.config
