I've got a problem. I want to type subscripted characters within a flash textbox. I tried it with HTML like x1, but flash just ignors and types x1. So I think Flash interprets the tags as html-tags, but does not work with them. Maybe anyone knows somthing abuot this...
You would help me a lot.

From Macromedia (technote 14808)...
Here are the only tags presently supported by Flash 5.

About HTML formatting in Flash
New in Macromedia Flash 5 is the ability to apply HTML formatting styles to text fields. Styling tags like bold, underline, font styles, and URL links can be applied to a word or group of words within a text field. It's important to note that the Flash Player is not a Web browser and does not support all the HTML tags and formatting features of a standard Web browser. Rather, a small subset of HTML tags are supported that allow for the formatting and styling of text fields.

HTML tags supported by Flash (optional tag attributes in brackets):

<A HREF=&quot;URL&quot; >
A target frame of a frameset can be added...

<B>

<FONT [COLOR=&quot;#xxxxxx) &quot;] [FACE=&quot;Type Face&quot;] [SIZE=&quot;Type Size&quot;]>

<I>

<P [ALIGN=&quot;LEFT&quot;|&quot;RIGHT&quot;|&quot;CENTER&quot;] >

<U>

it is a dynamic one. the textbox needs an variable, because flash gets the text from an external textfile.
