I recently tried to make a graph in excel 2000.

I wrote the chemical scientific name in a cell. at the end I used format cell on the subscript at the end. On the workbook sheet it looks right. When I created a graph it went back to regular script and also when I printed it same thing. How do I keep it like on the workbook sheet.

Thanks in advance for any help

I don't think it is possible to do this (at least not in Excel97 or 2000).
It is possible to get a superscript for square or cubic in the legend by entering the cell value for the legend as a formula, e.g. ="m"&CHAR(178).
You could create a textbox - in which you format text as in cells - and position that over the legend text. I find it kinda awkward, especially as I haven't found a method to sort of "group" the legend box and the text box.
