i have created a report that uses subreports. i compiled and ran the distribution export with no problems. i installed on desired machine and upon open i encountered a print engine error "cannot open sql server". just to make sure i could hit the datasource i ran a test from msaccess and sql+ and was successful. i also installed a report that had no subreports and was successful. so that leads me to believe that there is an issue with the subreports but after searching the web i could not find any help. can you not distribute a report with subreports or does anyone know a patch to fix? thanks in advance for any help.

Subreports are not handled very well with the Distribution Expert. One reason I suspect it has been discontiued. CR9 does nto support it at all.

Can you run the compiled report on the machine it was created on?

Our Crystal Ease product might be something to ease your deployment pain.

If you try to run the compiled report on the design PC does it work?
