I have a fairly simple report with three subreports. Each of the subreports does not display the relevant Page Header. The Subreport displays the Report Header and displays the Detail. Everything in the Main Report is normal and works fine.
The Subreport Page Headers are important as they describe what the data is below them. How is it possible to display the subreport Page Header?

Subreports have no page stuff at all. You can create a pseudo page header by adding a New Sorting and Grouping expression of:
=1
Set its Group Header to Yes and then set the =1 Group Header "Repeat Section" to Yes.

You can now use this group header as a page header on your subreport.

This may sound simple, and it probably is, but in the last post which said:

How do you add a New Sorting and Grouping expression of: =1
to a Subreport who's Page header you're trying to see in the Main report?

In the subreport design view, select View|Sorting and Grouping. This opens a dialog form that allows you to sort and group. Add the expression:
=1
and make it the very first listing. Set its Show Header to Yes.

It would appear that in Version 8, I don't have the View|Sorting and Grouping option available in the subreport Design view. Any ideas or other ways to get to it?

Bill

Close everything and open just the subreport in design view. Select View|Sorting and Grouping. If you don't see it, then it is hiding off your screen. If this is the case, come on back...

Bill,

This is just a shot in the dark, but are you sure you're in the right forum??

I'm not that fond of CR either.....

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
