SubReports and Pass thru queries

Does anyone know how you can run a main report containing sub-reports that run off of pass thru queries? I have tried this and it gives me an error message saying that subreports or sub forms cannot have a pass thru query as a source....any help would be appreciated.

You can not use pass through queries subreports, but...

I have heard (but not tried) creating a normal Access query against your pass through and reference the normal access query in your subform.

Not sure...
